Rank Orders
- Cadet (CDT)
- Lance Corporal (LCP)
- Corporal (CPL)
- Sergeant (SGT)
- Staff Sergeant (S/SGT)
- Station Inspector (SI)
The above are the ranks a cadet in Secondary School can obtain. All of you will leave the Corps if you stay through the 4 years in VS as a Staff Sergeant provided you turn up for training regularly and show good performance.
Trainings will be tough. You might get yelled at,shouted at,and you might at times find your NCOs/ICs unreasonable. But we don't do things for the sake of doing them. The punishment you receive, the scoldings, all of us had went through it.When you are at our position 3 years down the road, you will understand why we have to do all this.VSNPCC is a gold unit, obtaining 8 consecutive gold award in the Unit Overall Proficiency Award (UOPA),which ranks us as one of the top 4 NPCC units in the whole of Singapore. As such, there will be a certain standard expected of you from others. All the things we do to you are to train you to reach that standard.
I hope all of you will bond well as a squad as they will be the ones following you for the next 4 years of your life in VS.Your classmates will change in Sec3,but your squadmates will remain with you.I understand that most of your didn't want to be posted into NPCC,but since you are already here with no option of appealing out,why don't you make the most out of it,and perhaps find a part of yourself that you never know?
As long as you persevere, you will be rewarded,be it through rank or post of an NCO.The years ahead will be tough,no doubt. But as long as you remember the motto of our school,Nil Sine Labore, you will find that you will find no obstacle will be able to prevent your quest ahead.
Nil Sine Labore.
